Director Chris Muir came to me wanting to work with somebody who could map visuals onto a human face. With a tight budget and an 8-hour shoot day we had to pre-visualize the ideas while still allowing ourselves for time to experiment on set.
Using a projector set just to the left of the camera the visual cues you see in this video are largely from one take where we were synchronizing lighting and visual cues as well as camera movement.
It's projects like these that really show have a great idea can come together quickly when the right parameters for experimentation are in place. Also electric youth are amazing in the song is so classic and timeless.
